The Miami Valley's ONLY emergency shelter and programming for youth and young adults age 10-24 and 24/7 emergency hotline (937) 461-1000

Operating the region's only emergency shelter and 24/7 emergency hotline for youth and young adults, we provide a wide range of services and programs aimed at helping youth and young adults overcome their homelessness.

Here’s how we help youth at Daybreak Dayton:

1. Emergency Shelter: We offer a safe and secure emergency shelter for youth who are experiencing homelessness or facing unsafe living conditions. Our shelter provides a temporary home where young individuals can find respite, stability, and support while we work together to find long-term solutions.

2. Transitional Living Program: For those who require more extended support, our transitional living program offers a structured and nurturing environment. Youth in this program receive guidance and assistance in areas such as education, employment, life skills, and housing, enabling them to successfully transition into independent adulthood.

3. Street Outreach: We actively engage with youth who are living on the streets or in unstable situations through our street outreach program. Our dedicated team reaches out to these individuals, building relationships and connecting them with essential resources such as food, clothing, medical care, and housing assistance.

4. Mental Health Services: We understand the importance of mental well-being in the overall development of youth. Our mental health services provide individual counseling, group therapy, and psychiatric care to address various mental health challenges. We work closely with young individuals to develop coping strategies, enhance self-esteem, and improve overall emotional well-being.

5. Educational Support: Education is a vital component of a successful future. Through our educational support programs, we offer tutoring, homework assistance, GED preparation, and college/career guidance. We strive to remove barriers to education and empower youth to achieve academic success.

6. Employment Services: We assist youth in acquiring job readiness skills, finding employment opportunities, and developing long-term career plans. Our employment services include resume building, interview preparation, and job placement assistance. We believe that gainful employment plays a crucial role in fostering independence and self-sufficiency.

7. Life Skills Training: At Daybreak Dayton, we recognize the importance of equipping youth with necessary life skills. Through workshops and hands-on training, we teach essential skills such as budgeting, cooking, conflict resolution, communication, and problem-solving. These skills empower youth to navigate challenges and make
