For more than 50 years, Unison has been committed to providing accessible and effective care to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of the community. With Toledo and Bowling Green facilities, Unison ensures comprehensive services are readily available to those requiring assistance.

Services Provided

• Mental Health Services: Unison Health offers a wide range of services to support individuals with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. These services cater to children, adolescents, adults, and families, providing tailored, evidence-based treatments.

• Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment: Unison provides a continuum of care for individuals facing substance use challenges. Programs include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with medications like Vivitrol and Suboxone, individual and group therapy, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and aftercare services tailored for gender-specific needs.

• Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU): The CSU is a voluntary alternative to hospitalization for individuals experiencing mental health crises. It provides stabilization and intensive support in a secure setting. CSU is available in Wood County Only.

Special Programs

• Housing First: Unison Health is committed to the Housing First model, which prioritizes providing individuals with safe, permanent housing as a primary intervention for homelessness. This approach is grounded in the belief that having stable housing is foundational to improving mental health and addressing substance use disorders. Once housed, individuals are offered support services such as counseling, psychiatric care, and case management, fostering long-term recovery and community reintegration .

• Assertive Community Treatment (ACT): ACT is an intensive, community-based service for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses who have not benefited from traditional treatment models. The ACT team offers multidisciplinary support, including psychiatric services, counseling, medication management, and social support, to reduce hospitalizations and improve community functioning.

• Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT): FACT teams provide similar services to ACT but are designed to work with individuals with severe mental illness who are involved in the criminal justice system. FACT aims to prevent incarceration or re-incarceration through comprehensive mental health treatment and community integration.

• OhioRISE: OhioRISE, a Medicaid-managed care program, is tailored to children and youth with complex behavioral health needs, ensuring coordinated, specialized services.

• SPERA Day Treatment: This program helps adults with mental illness by providing structured day treatment options. The SPERA program includes group therapies such as Cognitive Enhancement Therapy (CET), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and intensive outpatient programming.
